Ayer Keroh, Melaka – Charge+, a leading electric vehicle (EV) charging provider in Southeast Asia, launched an EV charging hub at Amverton Heritage Resort, located in Ayer Keroh area in the state of Melaka in Malaysia, a property owned by the Amverton Group of Companies. This strategic site represents another key node in Charge+’s 5,000km EV Charging Highway that will link Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam, the first of its kind in the region.

Located just 3 minutes off the North-South Highway in Malaysia, this EV charging hub is the largest in the Ayer Keroh area which is a popular midway stop between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. The charging hub hosts four DC fast charging points and two AC charging points accessible from both northbound and southbound traffic along the North-South Highway. At 120kW power rating, the DC chargers will also provide fast charging turnaround for EV drivers. This convenient location enables seamless EV travel for both domestic and cross-border drivers with comfort in a premium hospitality setting.

In conjunction with the launch, Charge+ also announced our strategic partnership with EV Edaran, a subsidiary of Amverton Group, to extend beyond Peninsular Malaysia to develop EV charging infrastructure in Sabah and Sarawak of East Malaysia. The strategic collaboration will prioritise Amverton’s properties in Peninsula Malaysia and at properties owned by its related company, Sebangga Group, in East Malaysia. Both Charge+ and EV Edaran will also announce our detailed plans for a charging network in East Malaysia in the second half of 2025.

“We are thrilled to launch our Ayer Keroh charging hub as a key location in our 5,000km EV Charging Highway, the first of its kind in Southeast Asia. Strategically located in the midway point between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore, this charging hub will serve EV drivers in both directions and enhance confidence of EV drivers in long-distance, cross-border travel. Our partnership with EV Edaran also opens up new exciting opportunities to extend beyond this regional corridor into Sabah and Sarawak,” said Goh Chee Kiong, CEO of Charge+.

Dato Ambrose Ng, Chairman of EV Edaran, a subsidiary of the Amverton Group, commented, “We are honoured to support Charge+’s vision for a connected and sustainable Southeast Asia. This partnership reflects our shared commitment to accelerating EV adoption not just in Peninsular Malaysia, but also in East Malaysia, where infrastructure is still developing. We are proud to work closely with Charge+ to identify and support strategic locations for EV charger deployment in Sabah and Sarawak. Together, we’re making it easier for more Malaysians to switch to EVs, particularly in areas that currently lack sufficient charging infrastructure.

This initiative is part of Charge+'s ongoing efforts to support Malaysia’s goal of establishing 10,000 EV charging stations across the country by 2025. Through our strategic partnership with EV Edaran, we aim to extend beyond Peninsular Malaysia to build an EV charging network in Sabah and Sarawak.
