PRESS RELEASE

CHARGE+ AND CAPITALAND DEVELOPMENT (VIETNAM) PARTNER TO INSTALL ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING STATIONS AT CLD PROPERTIES IN VIETNAM

To contribute to Vietnam’s goal to achieve net zero emissions by 2050

Ho Chi Minh City and Singapore, 25 October 2022 -

Charge+ Vietnam and CapitaLand Development (CLD) (Vietnam) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) today to identify opportunities and locations for the installation of EV charging stations at CLD (Vietnam)’s upcoming greenfield projects in Vietnam.

The partnership seeks to encourage the use of more EVs in Vietnam, in alignment with the pro-EV policies of the Vietnamese government. Vietnam has been increasing the number of available EV models through imports as well as local EV assembly plants. The partnership will also support the reduction of overall carbon emissions in Vietnam and contribute to Vietnam’s goal to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.

The partnership taps on Charge+’s strong track record as the leading EV charging provider in Singapore and the region. Charge+ entered Vietnam in 2021 and is now serving a wide range of customers including Heineken, Tasco and Volvo. This partnership with CLD (Vietnam) will help diversify Charge+’s portfolio of EV charging sites to the residential and industrial properties in Vietnam.

CLD (Vietnam) is keen to install EV charging stations in future greenfield projects in the country. The EV charging stations and infrastructure will provide CLD (Vietnam)’s homeowners, tenants and customers the convenience to charge their EVs right at CLD (Vietnam)’s properties and encourage CLD Vietnam’s customers to choose more sustainable transport options.

“Charge+ is now experiencing rapid expansion across Southeast Asia, in which Vietnam represents an exciting growth market for us. We are therefore excited to partner leading property player CLD (Vietnam) and enable its properties to be future-ready for the electric mobility revolution. This partnership is also testament to Charge+’s ability to deliver a comprehensive solution comprising EV charger hardware, smart charging software and innovative business models.” said Goh Chee Kiong, Group CEO of Charge+.

“In line with CapitaLand's 2030 Sustainability Master Plan, we strive to explore and adopt innovative ways to reduce our carbon footprint, use more renewable energy and encourage our customers to lead more sustainable lifestyles. With the partnership with like-minded partners like Charge+, we are able to better meet the demands of our discerning and sustainability-minded customers, while contributing to Vietnam’s sustainability goals to be net zero by 2050. CLD (Vietnam) continues to explore the use of clean energy and other sustainability initiatives to create quality spaces for the community to work, live and play.” said Ronald Tay, CEO of CLD (Vietnam).
